No home remedy to induce menstruation within an hour!

Given that irregular periods are a common challenge for many women, home remedies that claim to cure the problem are hugely popular. However, there is no scientific evidence to support the claim that any such remedy can induce menstruation instantly.

Multiple YouTube videos in regional Indian languages claim to have found the magic potion that can induce menstruation within an hour! All one supposedly needs to make the miracle drink are ingredients easily found in most Indian kitchens - onions, turmeric, ginger, cumin, sesame, and fenugreek seeds. We found videos with similar content in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Given that irregular periods are a common challenge for many women, home remedies that claim to cure the problem are hugely popular. However, there is no scientific evidence to support the claim that any such remedy can induce periods within one hour.

Dr. Shimna Azeez, a public health professional and writer based in Kerala, cautions against the adoption of inorganic processes that promise instant cure. “There are proven drugs and certain foods that can help delay periods, but you can’t just induce periods instantly. It’s best to consult a doctor for the treatment of irregular or late monthly cycles,” she says.
