As a health professional with over 15 years of clinical and public health experience, Dr Sabba Mehmood has undertaken a variety of roles in medical practice. She has worked as a Medical Officer at the Community Medicine Department of Government Medical College (Srinagar) , a doctor in Internal Medicine and Infection Control departments , Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. She has also worked as Hyperbaric Medicine Doctor at Apollo Hospital, India’s first private hospital to start Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy(HBOT).

Currently as a WHO Certified Infodemic Manager, she is working on a series of infodemic management initiatives with focus on addressing health misinformation and interventions to promote resilience of individuals and communities to mitigate infodemic and its harmful effects on peoples' health.

She holds MBBS degree from Government Medical College (Srinagar), Diploma in Health and Family Welfare Management from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and she is trained in Global Health and Humanitarian Medicine (GHHM) from Médecins Sans Frontières.
