Happy New Year to all our First Check readers!!!
The last year was all about growth, collaborations, and innovations for First Check. From the continued content sharing partnership with THE WEEK, where one can read First Check’s verified and credible health-related articles on THE WEEK’s website, to becoming a member of the Trusted Information Alliance, 2025 saw First Check pursuing stronger impact, meaningful collaborations, and new partnerships built on trust and facts.
And this year is set to be even bigger, bolder, and more ambitious! 2026 is already shaping up to be one of our best years yet—with the biggest edition of our flagship Health of India Summit yet slated for January 28, 2026.
This year marks the fourth edition of the Health of India Summit, which is convened by First Check and hosted by DataLEADS, is also officially recognised as a Pre-Summit Event by the Union government ahead of its AI Impact Summit later this year. This year, we are proud to welcome a co-host as well, the National Institute of Family Health and Welfare (NIHFW) whose Munirka campus will also act as the venue for the event. As we continue to champion credible information and public interest journalism, the event will also feature sessions with the participation of National Health Authority of India.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our partners for this year’s event—The German broadcaster Deutsche Welle is our global media partner, Global Health Strategies is the title partner, the Wadhwani Foundation is the industry partner, Healthcare Sector Skill Council and TiE Delhi NCR are the supporting partners, and the British Medical Journal Group, SocioScript and ADiRA are the knowledge partners for the event.
With a central theme of “Building a Healthier India with AI,” the Summit will bring together the changemakers, the policymakers, the innovation drivers, and the decision takers, onto one stage to discuss how artificial intelligence will transform our approach to health and healthcare, accelerate growth and innovation, help bridge traditional gaps in our public health systems, and increase efficacy and efficiencies. Our varied and diverse speaker list continues to grow and already includes some of the brightest minds in the healthcare landscape—including Dr Sanghamitra Pati, the Additional Director General of ICMR, Dr Prashant Mishra, the MD India and South Asia at the BMJ Group, Keshri Asthana, the CTO (Public Sector) at Microsoft, Dr Chandrakant Lahariya, Founder-Director of Foundation For People-centric Health Systems, and Dr Harsh Mahajan, PAdma Shri Awardee and Founder, Mahajan Imaging & Labs, among others.
