They are good additions to support post-workout recovery for muscle and tissue repair.

Is consuming milk with bananas bad for your health? The internet seems divided on the issue, even as many consider the combination to be a powerful post-workout meal.

Bananas are an excellent source of energy and potassium, while milk provides a boost of proteins and calcium. Both are known to be good additions to support post-workout recovery for muscle and tissue repair.

However, as per Ayurveda, the traditional system of Indian medicine, consuming banana and milk together is not a good idea as they are incompatible foods. To delve deeper into the claim, First Check reached out to Dr Anjana Kalia, a nutritionist and Ayurveda practitioner based in Delhi, India.

“Due to the lack of verified research on the effects of mixing them together, it is not possible to make any claims about the same,” maintains the expert. However, she cautions those with respiratory issues to avoid consuming milk and banana together as the combination can trigger cough.

All in all, it is safe to indulge in the delicious combination of milk and bananas. Remember to do it in moderation, though, as part of a healthy, wholesome diet.
